The Other Shore
Medicine Journeys
Where the practice meets the medicine
We have been training attention—learning to place awareness where it matters, to stay with whatever arises, to feel the ground beneath us. The Other Shore is where that training comes into direct contact with the medicines themselves. Four of us, a held space, a practice we already share. We take turns holding and being held, and we move toward the places that have never quite felt safe to reach.
What people describe afterward is hard to say and easy to feel. Not a trip. A kind of safety that stays with you. The ground everywhere, beneath you and within you. New ground, together. Another shore.
Everyone who has entered these waters has told me the same thing, in their own words. It showed them a new level of what this work can be.
In their own words
“Ryan led four of us through a medicine journey. That was one of the most profound experiences in my life. And it really opened me up to my own heart in a way that allowed me to be more intimate with my experience and with the world.”
— Matt“Ryan is a master architect when it comes to designing psychedelic spaces. He has an understanding of the subtle dynamics at play and the processes that will give rise to the most healing, enjoyable, and transformative experiences. When I watch him design, communicate, and then enact them, I have a deep knowing that I’m watching a master in his craft.”
— Ethan W“It’s unlike anything I’ve experienced before. There’s a sincere part of me that wants to spread the word.”
— Brian“I felt so safe with him. The way he held me. The way his body knew where to go and meet my body in all the right places.”
— David“From the first time I talked to him, it was clear that he's all about this, that this is what he's passionate about. There was a lot of prep, a long questionnaire. So much intention put into it. This is real and it's taken seriously. His fondness for the work and the care he put in set the stage for feeling really good and safe going in.”
— Mike“I’ve known Ryan for a few years now, and he has this really soft, tender heart quality. It just kind of melts you. He really knows how to deeply connect to people, find that soft tender place in them. He’s so attuned, and he feels things so deeply, and you can feel him feeling things. It’s this really incredible mirroring experience.”
— Ethan B"Nobody's integrating these ancient Buddhist teachings inside the medicine space that I know of. And he makes them relevant to today."
— Brian“It allowed my whole body to relax and my mind to loosen up. My heart and my mind and my gut, the whole axis, to really soften and open and align to the open, loving ground.”
— LizHe really laser beams in on the thing that you just don’t want to go toward. And that’s where the magic happens, going toward it and staying toward it.
— Brian“What was special is Ryan was guiding us to attune to one another one at a time. We gave one person all our attention, really listened with our full open hearts, intuiting what she needed, and that enabled her to resolve longstanding things, wounds coming to the surface to be seen and healed and witnessed. Then we moved to the next. We took turns showering each person with love and goodness.”
— Liz“He’s tracking for those little subtle movements we might make, that holding of our breath, a different body movement. He’s really great at tracking. And he’s great at being in the relational space between two people, able to receive.”
